First market of the year!

Yesterday was my first craft market of the year, and what an amazing day it was! I could not have asked for a better market to start the season with. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed your support to all of us local artisans and makers, and a huge thank you to the ladies that organized it for once again putting on such a great market! This is the second market I’ve participated in at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Association, and it definitely did not disappoint. Also, special shoutout to my Grandma for making the trip from Haliburton to keep me company all day!

At this market I sold my usual fresh flower bouquets, plants, photography prints and assorted crystals, along with London fog scented bath salts and orange preserves! In all of my morning-of chaos I completely forgot to pack my herb and plant markers that I had advertised, as well as a couple of my photo and price displays. I ended up having to use my wooden triangle display shelves (that are usually for sale, but in yesterday’s case were not) to prop up my photography prints. Note to self, have EVERYTHING packed the night before😂 Other than that, things went very smoothly! I’m still learning as I go, but it’s crazy to see how much my business has changed and grown in a year compared to my first craft show last April. Also, last year I sold my photos as a postcard size, whereas this year I’ve decided to go bigger and sell them pre-framed. That means less variety on display at the market, but I’ve chosen my favourites to display and you can always find many more options on my VSCO. I now offer custom sized prints of all of my photos, ranging anywhere from 4x6 to 16x20!

Next up is the opening day of the Lanark Country Crafters Market on May 18th! I’ve added a section to the website where I’ll share upcoming market posters so you can stay up to date with where I’ll be this year. I will also have more details about our farm stand coming soon, but so far it’s looking like we will be opening at the end of June! I likely won’t do a blog post for every market I do, I’m just super excited about how the first one went! I can’t wait to keep sharing all of the exciting things I have planned for this year🌲🧡
