Farm stand!

Our farm stand is officially open for the season! When we first opened last year, you could find veggies, herbs, flowers and preserves at the stand, as well as photography prints, woodworking, various crafts- everything I typically sell at markets and more. This year we decided to shift the focus from having everything I have available at markets, to more of a typical farm stand. Hence changing our sign from Roadside Market to Farm Stand! Our plan is to be open every weekend (with the exception of a few weekends) from now until the fall. Every week will have different stock as our garden provides through the season!

Most everything we sold for the opening weekend was made or grown within 30 minutes of us! The flowers were grown by 3 amazing flower farmers, Darling Buds, Farmview Gardens and Maple Holme Flowers, then arranged by yours truly. My strawberry jam was made with strawberries we hand picked from Kinburn Berries. We sold herbs from our garden, as well as some veggies and pepper plants from my Mom’s garden. We also had a couple different preserves grown, foraged and made by my Mom at Urban Girl Homestead, and spice blends from Pitmaster Chicken & BBQ in Carleton Place. My goal with our farm stand is to try and stay as local as possible!

Overall I’d say it was a very successful opening weekend! I was a little nervous with the first day being rainy, as that typically affects the amount of traffic there will be. Shoutout to my wonderful mother-in-law for making the first purchase of the season! Thankfully Canada Day brought a lot of people out, and we were nearly sold out by the end of the day. I received this note (pictured below) and it absolutely made my day. I couldn’t keep doing what I love without everyone’s kindness and support. I’m looking so forward to seeing what this season brings for our little stand😊
